I climbed the 219 steps to the top! More information, courtesy of the St. Augustine Lighthouse website: Construction began in 1871 (see date above door); the lighthouse is St. Augustine's oldest surviving brick structure; it rises 165 feet above sea level; it is lit by a 1000 watt bulb.
