A koala relaxes in its enclosure at the Palm Beach Zoo in Florida. This was part of a koala encounter that I was lucky enough to experience. After learning about this wonderful animal I had the opportunity to enter its enclosure and get some photos. I even had a picture of me next to it! Though I couldn't touch or hold it, it was a really great experience. What made it even more special was the fact that after hearing and reading about them for so long, this was my very first time seeing one!
I have been taking pictures most of my life and love the idea of taking a moment and capturing it forever! My photography skills have been enhanced through private lessons as well as being a member of my local camera club. I have won more than 100 awards and features from various competitions thus far and have had my pictures displayed at art galleries, libraries and other institutions both individually and collectively as part of the camera club exhibit. In addition to my event and portrait photography, I make digital slideshows and enjoy helping others create lasting memories with their photos. I have to admit that I don’t visit zoos and I don’t like to see animals in a zoo. But Richard, you have captured these zoo animals in such a beautiful way, looking happy and at peace. I am pleasantly surprised. I chose the koala because it is my favorite animal. I would be ecstatic to see it up close like this, and would be all fingers to photograph it. It would be quite painful to not be able to touch it. Koala’s are simply irresistible! Eucalyptus keeps them in a euphoric state of mind, a cheerful heart, so it’s aptly titled. I will have to take a relaxing stroll through your gallery of animals at the Florida Zoo. I lived in Florida the 1st seven years of my life. A beautiful state. LF FB Janet 💕
